Dr. Msadala holds PhD and MSc degrees in Civil/Hydraulic Engineering from University of Stellenbosch, South Africa and a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering with Credit from the Polytechnic, University of Malawi. He holds several certificates including Dam Monitoring and Surveillance and Design of Hydraulic Structures. He has over ten years’ experience in teaching, research, training and capacity building in water engineering. He previously worked as a lecturer in hydrology and hydraulics within the Department of Civil Engineering at the Polytechnic, University of Malawi where he was the Chairperson of the department’s water research group.
Prior to joining the University of Malawi, he worked for Blantyre Water Board as an Engineer. He has also worked as an Individual Consultant on the World Bank funded Shire River Basin Management Programme. He is a graduate engineer with Malawi Board of Engineers and Malawi Institution of Engineers. He has facilitated and developed course material for World Bank funded training and continued professional programmes for engineers in the water sector of Malawi through the National Construction Industry Council (NCIC). He has supervised and assessed undergraduate and postgraduate research projects in the University of Malawi. He has worked as the deputy Head of the Department of Civil Engineering.
Mr. Booker Waya has a Master of Science degree in Geographical Information Systems for Catchment Dynamics and Management obtained from the University of Leeds in the United Kingdom. He also holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering obtained from the University of Malawi. Booker has over 7 years’ experience in GIS data collection, digitization, analysis, modelling and production of maps. He boasts of 6 years’ experience of being a Team Leader on formulation of GIS Database for Blantyre Water Board and has trained and mentored engineers and technicians on use of GIS (both QGIS and Arc GIS).
In addition, he has 11 years’ experience in the design, construction and supervision of small to large scale water supply infrastructure projects. He is a registered Graduate Engineer with Malawi Board of Engineers, and a Member of the Malawi Institution of Engineers. With proven experience in communication, Booker has written and presented technical reports to the World Bank, the European Union and the European Investment Bank for a number of infrastructure projects undertaken at Blantyre Water Board. He has participated and been involved in interface meetings with various project stakeholders’ meetings including donors, Government agencies/departments, Councils, traditional leaders and subjects and Non-Governmental Organizations for 8 years.
Eng. Edward Chirambo is a Registered Civil Engineer with Malawi Board of Engineers and a Member of the Malawi Institution of Engineers. He has over 11 years’ experience in Water Supply Systems Design, Operation and Management, Project Management and Contract Administration including procurement and supervision of Consultants and Contractors. He holds a Master of Science degree in Water Resources Management (2013) and a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering (2006)
